1 lb ground breakfast sausage browned and drained
4 oz cream cheese melted
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon xanthan gum
salt and pepper to taste
Biscuit Topping:
2 cups carb quick
1/4 cup butter cubed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup water
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Mix gravy ingredients together in a bowl and transfer to an oven safe skillet or casserole dish.
3. Prepare biscuit topping by first working butter into Carbquick until crumbly.
4. Add remaining ingredients and mix well until a dough forms.
5. If dough is too crumbly, add a little more water, a tablespoon at a time, until dough holds together.
6. Break dough into small pieces and cover gravy mixture completely with biscuit pieces, layering on top of other pieces until all dough is used.
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until biscuit topping is golden and baked through.
